Tabs that survive a Friday.
Open tabs, split rounds, a stocktake nobody wants to do on Sunday, and a roster that changed three times this week. The busy part is not the ordering, it is everything around it.
No card. Cancel in one click. Runs in a browser on hardware you already own.
The same thing, on screen.
Filmed off the real product, not a mockup. Sound on — there is a voice explaining what you are looking at.
Swipe sideways for the rest.
One Friday night, step by step.
Every step below happens inside DineHopper. Nothing is typed in twice, and nothing is handed to another app.
The card machine holds an amount, so a tab that walks out is already covered.
A comp needs a manager PIN and lands on the record with a reason.
What you poured and what you bought are in one system, so they compare.
By item or by person, cash and card. The bill closes only when it is covered.
Reserve, banked and variance all recorded, with an approval over your limit.
The six you will open every day.
There are seventeen modules in DineHopper. These six are the ones a bar will open daily. The other eleven are in there too and sit quietly until you want them.
- POS Terminal — bar tabs held on the card, split rounds, cash out, manager PINs on voids and comps
- Inventory & Supplier bills — what you poured against what you bought
- Team & wages — rosters and timesheets for a roster that changes weekly
- Kitchen Display — for the bar menu, on a tablet, without a printer
- Events — ticketed nights and function bookings
- POS reports — takings by hour, so you can see what a Wednesday is really worth
How does a free POS make money?
Out of your card payments. A POS that costs nothing up front usually takes about 1.5% of every card sale instead. On $20,000 a month in card takings that is roughly $300 a month, and it comes out whether you used the software that month or not.
We do it the other way round. One flat monthly price, from $89 ex GST. Bring your own terminal and we take nothing from your card takings, and no commission on your own online orders. Want one provider for everything? DineHopper Payments adds 0.30% to the processing cost. Who processes your cards stays your decision.
What bars ask us.
Can we hold a card behind the bar?
Yes. Opening a bar tab holds an amount on the customer's card on the card machine. Rounds go on the tab, the hold can be topped up, and closing it charges the final amount with any tip.
Can a tab move from the bar to a table?
Yes. Tabs and tables are on the same floor plan and an open bill can be reassigned without starting again.
Does it handle happy-hour or member pricing?
Price overrides and manual discounts are there, each needing an approval above a limit you set, and each recorded with the name of whoever approved it.
We are cash-heavy. Is that a problem?
No. Cash keeps working with no connection at all, and the shift close-off is built around counting it — expected against counted, variance recorded, reserve and banked amounts separated.
It is the same system either way.
These pages only change which parts get talked about first.
